Anthony Verrelli is a career public servant. He started out as a Journeyman Carpenter, and over the years climbed through the ranks of union leadership until going on to be an organizer, business agent, funds administrator and local president. He has served on many levels of local government including Ewing Planning Board, Mercer County Planning Board, Mercer County Improvement Authority, Mercer County Freeholder Board and now is the New Jersey Assemblyman for the 15th district. Anthony currently serves as the Executive Director of the Mercer County Improvement Authority, where they spearhead providing efficient government services to the public, while also providing economic development to the county.
Anthony is the Assemblyman from the NJ 15th Legislative District. He serves parts of Mercer County (Hopewell Valley, Trenton, Ewing, West Windsor and Lawrence) and Hunterdon County (Delaware Twp, East Amwell Twp, Frenchtown, Kingwood, Lambertville, Stockton, and West Amwell).
Anthony prioritizes working on legislation to support workers rights, services to those struggling with mental health and drug addiction, and measures to support decreasing the recidivism rate. On a broader scale, Anthony advocates for affordability issues that he knows are critical to the middle-class such as healthcare, energy savings and expanding housing to make sure everyone can afford a place to live.
Anthony has a proven track-record of delivering tangible benefits to people. Whether it was his role in union leadership or as an elected official, the work Anthony does for people provides direct benefit to improving their lives, not just abstract legislation that never reaches people where they are at.
Anthony has a broad-base of support from progressive advocacy groups, unions both private and public, environmental groups, and social justice organizations.
