Meet Anthony

Born and raised in Mercer County, Anthony's story is rooted in hard work, family, and community.

Anthony is the son of immigrant parents: his father worked at a steel plant across the river and his mother was a paralegal. They both taught Anthony the value of hard work, including things like showing up on time and doing the job right the first time. These values gave Anthony the foundation that propelled him to become who he is today.

After becoming a union carpenter, Anthony spent more than 35 years in organized labor, giving him opportunity, stability, and purpose.

Anthony spent over a decade working in the field with his hands and tools. He was promoted to be a union organizer. As an organizer, he worked his way up through the ranks to become a business manager, trustee of the council, and President of Local 254, representing the needs of over 5,000 members. Along the way, he helped diversify the carpenters’ union, created pathways for formerly incarcerated individuals to join the workforce, and helped establish support and recovery initiatives like Carpenters Who Care. He often says he owes everything he has to organized labor, and he’s committed to paying that forward.

Anthony's commitment to the community led him into public service.

In 2016, Anthony was elected to the Mercer County Board of County Commissioners, where he pioneered initiatives to create jobs for local skilled labor. In August 2018, he was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly, where he has continued to be a strong advocate for families and people from all walks of life. As Labor Chair, he leads the charge to strengthen worker rights and expand opportunities for every New Jersey resident to live and work in the state they love with dignity.

In the Assembly, Anthony has focused on issues that directly affect the lives of New Jerseyans.

He has fought for clean water and responsible land use, pushed back against rushed environmental approvals, and supported a woman’s right to choose. He voted in committee to establish a citizen review board for police and has been a consistent voice for reentry, mental health access, and reducing stigma around care. He is deeply committed to helping others find recovery, connecting people to treatment and insurance, and supporting efforts within the county jail for rehabilitation. He’s also a strong advocate for mental health support systems.

Married for nearly three decades and a proud father, Anthony understands the pressures families face because he lives them every day. He prides himself on listening, learning where people are coming from, and giving a voice to those who too often go unheard. For Anthony, public service is about community, fairness, and making sure no one gets left behind.

With your support, I will continue to get it done for New Jersey.
